Dearborn is a city of progress and tradition. As your President Pro Tem, my focus is on ensuring that our local government is as hardworking as the residents it serves. We are prioritizing smart budgeting, neighborhood-level infrastructure, and the public safety resources our first responders need to keep us safe. My door is always open as we work to make Dearborn the best place to live, work, and raise a family.

Kamal Alsawafy brings the discipline of a Bronze Star recipient and the expertise of an MBA to the City Council. A Captain in the Michigan Army National Guard and a product of Dearborn Public Schools, Kamal’s leadership is rooted in the belief that effective policy requires both a strategic vision and a commitment to service.
